Hoarding Up Cosmetics.

Lately, I’ve been purchasing a lot of cosmetics. Usually i just bougt eyeshadows or lipsticks every 4months. But recently i feel like i tried a new product every month. My latest buying spree was Implora eyeshadow, which at only 25k for 10 colourful and neutral palette, gives me a very pigmented result.
At november ’17, i bought a mineral botanica lip cream. The color pigmentation (its Honey Nude) is quite OK, but its staying power is horrible. I need to use lipbalm before applying it. The lipbalm used as lip moisturizer and make the lip cream less sticky. If i dont use lip bam, the lip cream will fade every time I drink (which I always do every 30 minutes) and it will be so sticky in my mouth I feel like using a lip sticker instead of a lip cream. It costs me 45k for a tube.
Talk about lip cream, my favourite so far is pixy lip cream in chic rose and party red. The chic rose one is very wearable for everyday use. We can’t go wrong with it. With or without lip balm, those lip creams have quite good staying power. Especially the party red one. Its shade will lasts for almost 12 hours, still stay put even if we drink or eat excessively. The chic rose not that lucky. It will wear off after 6-8 hours, faster if we eat. They costs only 38k.
Aside from eye shadow from Implora, I have another from Silky Girl. And girl how its horrible purchase. Its color is so soft I need to brush it 3-4 times before its pigmentation fully appear. On the bright side, I still can use it for nude make up. For a dark skinned people like me, eyeshadow quad from Silky Girl is a big no. Better spend it on Viva or Sariayu ones which has better pigmentation and more reasonable price. Thank god Silky Girl Quad Eyeshadow only costs me 46k.
Speaking about eye, I bought a liquid eyeliner from Viva last november too. It has good staying power, and easy to be cleaned despite its waterproof side. Had the same texture as Sariayu’s. Its staying power definitely outlasted moko-moko gel eyeliner, which I bought at 2016. Both moko-moko and viva had the same price, around 48k. And both a steal. If you like Maybeline gel liner, you’ll love Moko-moko.

Anime : A Netflix’s Guide

Aside from great documentaries and reaity shows, Netflix also have some great anime. Namely: Castlevania, Fate/Apocrypha, or Sinbad. Even if some of non Netflix’s Originals is quite good, like Shokugeki no Souma, Haikyu!!, or Tokyo Ghoul. I’m not an hardcore otaku or anime fan, rarely watched them. The latest anime I watched the whole season was Fate/Stay Night unlimited blade works. It is so good i watched it ten times.
First anime i watched at netflix was the Garden of Words. Its a story about a student who freqiently visit a woman on a garden only when its rain. They wil exchange words about daily life, food, or simply dreams. Slowly but sure, the student fell for the woman. Then one day, he finds out that the woman is an outgoing teacher at his school.
The story of this movie is quite simple. How to scarred soul discover and heal each other. The most distinguished one about this movie is how good its animation. Its like 2D animation shot in 3D camera. The distance between objects looks so real. The face of its character is quite proportional, unlike some anime’s which have large eyes.
Other notable anime is Sinbad. Yes its a story retold bazillion times with different angle, twist, and backstory. What makes Netflix’s version different is its simplicity. Per episode only 25 minutes. Could be watched within commuter time. And really entertaining. The story is not too hard to digest.

My Take On Netflix

For the last 3 month I’m addicted to Netflix. First it was Chef’s Table (season 1), then Mindhunter, followed by Midnight Diner, The Big Family Cooking Showdows, Girlboss (not my taste but I keep on watched it until 6th episode), Kantaro the sweet toot salaryman, then banck to chef’s table (season 2).
What really captivate my attention is how clean and beautiful Netflix’s show their scenes, and how fresh their stories are. Take for example Midnight Diner. Its stories are quite short per episode, only 21 minutes long. Yet every story offer down to earth, familiar, but different take on everyday problem. And it was refreshing, simple. Nothing is too dramatic nor bland.
The Big Family Cooking Showdown is another enjoyable reality show. It is deemed boring by some critic, but I found some amusement in watching families cooking together, sharing love, laughter, and demonstrating teamwork between them. The champion wins because of the taste, which makes it unsurprising when an immigrant family became the Champion.
Chef’s Table, Netflix’s most coveted, most sought after, and most praised documentary tv series, is another feast to our eyes. Stories about chef and cook around the world, mostly 3-star Michelin Chef or very acclaimed chef, and how they evolve until they found the right taste makes it one of Emmy’s worthy winner. Sometimes their stories about helping and nurture their culture or local tribe, sometimes its about their struggle to figure out life. And sometimes its about how cooking make them  a better person. All shot beautifully, accompanied by a handful of european classic tunes.
Kantaro the sweet tooth salaryman is a guide to some Japanes popular desserts, along with restaurants that served them, wrapped in a classic Japanese working class drama. Aside from a Saveur style review, often its hilarious and over the top expression that resemble food themed anime (Yakitate Japan, Shokugeki No Souma) which draws viewers attention. This drama also teach ud about the importance of smart work for the sake of time efficiency. Aside from the dessert, this series also add some words of wisdom from classic era philosopher.
That’s my review of 4 Netflix’s series I’ve enjoyed so far. In the near future, i guess I’ll stick to Chef’s table. Haven’t finished its 2nd or 3rd season yet. Every show on Netflix really worth our money. If you enjoy high quality tv shows, go install and subscribe it. At the first month, we can enjoy it for free. I’ve only need to pay at 2nd month onward. Happy Netflix and Chill.

Sophismata by Alanda Kariza

Ingin memahami bagaimana politik bekerja? Just read Sophismata.
4 to 5 stars

Perjalanan Sebuah Lagu by Candra Darusman

Dibandingkan dengan buku sejenisnya – seperti  The Song Machine: Inside The Hit Factory karya John Seabrook – buku ini masih terasa banyak kekurangannya.

Garnier Micellar Cleaning Water

Already use it for 2months, and really really satisfied. It cleanse even the most stubborn waterproof make up. It doesn't stink. Its not oily. And its definitely cheap. You can get only for 28k at the closest minimarkets.
Its only downside is its not easily transferred to smaller bottle, so I need to use pipet. If only Garnier willing to make a 30ml or mini sachet with tube like openings, I'll happily purchase it.
Haven't tried others, but I assume they're quite the same in quality. Maybe will change it to other brand's Micellar water in 4-5mos, but so far delighted with it in, and will still use it until I emptied my bottles.
Hurrah for Garnier and it high quality but low key product.
